Perfect lighting solution in the office: reduces the burden on people and the environment

People who have an office job spend up to 1800 hours a year at their work­station. The gaze wanders back and forth between screen, keyboard and docu­ments. That is quite strenuous for the eyes. That’s why well-lit work­places are essential. According to the guide­lines of the Federal Coor­di­nation Commission for Occu­pa­tional Safety (EKAS), this means at least 500 lux.
However, lights are often on in offices and meeting rooms even when they are not necessary. Makes no sense, neither ecolog­i­cally nor economically!
What does make sense, however, are customised and energy-effi­cient lighting and sensor solu­tions like those in an office building in Fehraltorf. Moreover, the design of our lumi­naires with their built-in presence detectors blends harmo­niously into the modern archi­tecture. It’s a pleasure to look at.

Solution

The archi­tec­tural office Heutschi from Binz ZH was in charge of the conversion of the office premises at Allmend­strasse 38 in Fehraltorf. The light had a high priority from the very beginning and was included from the first day of planning. The spec­i­fi­ca­tions were clear: ideal light to make the employees feel comfortable, flexible illu­mi­nation and a sensible solution in terms of energy and financing.
Every­thing spoke in favour of our elani P3200 4K pendant lumi­naire: the network­a­bility of the lumi­naires, the flexible grouping and the constant light control. Dimming is fully auto­matic or by push-button, as required. And last but not least, the design also spoke in favour of the elani lumi­naire with presence detectors installed in the centre or on the side.
This means that employees not only have light exactly where they need it. The light source also blends into the archi­tecture of the room and accen­tuates it.
The result is impressive, also in terms of energy savings. With daylight control and people detection, unnec­essary elec­tricity consumption is “a thing of the past”.
